We seek a Principal or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our friendly team based in Ivybridge, Devon, working on a diverse range of exciting and challenging Geotechnical Design and Inspection projects across the beautiful Southwest region.
The Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical and professional leadership as well as supporting others in the delivery of a range of Geotechnical engineering design works including the following:
* Designing and detailing works such as soil nails, rock anchors, earth retention systems, sheet piles, secant piles, excavation support systems, foundations, ground improvement schemes, and temporary works.
* Interpreting ground investigations, identifying ground risks, and providing mitigation solutions.
* Preparing and reviewing technical reports, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, British Standards, and current design codes.
* Ensuring health and safety compliance on projects and promoting awareness.
* Collaborating with civil and structural departments on cross-departmental projects.
* Traveling to and attending sites for surveys, inspections, monitoring, and meetings.
* Working with industry partners to meet client requirements.
About You:
Requirements:
* Degree (MEng / BEng / BSc) in Civil or Structural Engineering with geotechnical modules.
* Chartered status preferred but not essential.
* 3-5 years of geo-structural design experience.
* Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Masterseries, SCIA Engineer, WALLAP, QGIS, Civils 3D) is beneficial.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
* Full driving license.
