Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Instrument Work Preparator to join a well-established engineering services provider, supporting maintenance and modifications within a large-scale industrial asset.
The role involves preparing preventive, corrective, and minor modification work packs—considering time, resources, materials, and required tools—in line with safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare work packs in SAP and compile physical work packs where needed
Align work preparation with the asset’s maintenance standards and expectations
Liaise with Maintenance Supervisors to explore innovative or cost-effective solutions and identify opportunities for improvement
Conduct site surveys to clarify work scope, resolve technical queries, and aid in preparation
Ensure compliance with all offshore QHSE policies and standards
Support the Maintenance Team Leader, Supervisors, and Execution Team
Champion safe working practices and set a strong safety example in preparation activities
Ensure clarity and completeness of work pack content for the executing workforce
Help manage simultaneous tasks to minimise operational conflict and meet targets
Communicate with vendors, repair contractors, and engineering personnel when necessary
Maintain accuracy and integrity of data in systems such as SAP
Identify any engineering changes, repairs, or modifications that differ from existing specifications and escalate through proper change management channelsCandidate Profile:
We’re seeking someone who is collaborative, proactive, and safety-driven. You should be recognised as a specialist in your area and comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements:
HNC (or equivalent) in Instrumentation or related engineering discipline
Previous industry experience in an instrumentation-focused role
Familiarity with industry codes of practice and statutory documentation
Understanding of quality assurance, design safety, and environmental procedures
Computer literate and comfortable using SAP or similar maintenance systems
Strong cost awareness and ability to challenge inefficiencies or non-value-adding work
Positive, solution-focused attitude with an eye for operational improvements
