Health Care Assistant – Band 3
Department: Haemoglobinopathy/Haematology
Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week (three 7.5‑hour days, with flexibility for additional days).
Pay: £25,760 – £27,476 per annum, pro rata.
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our specialist nursing service at Milton Keynes University Hospital. This role is a key part of the team, providing both clinical and administrative support for patients living with haemoglobin disorders and related conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate appointments and maintain accurate patient records.
* Track care pathways, support audits, and assist with data collection to improve service delivery.
* Provide IT support and keep systems up to date.
* Support patients attending Red Cell Exchange clinics.
* Assist with preparing clinical areas and facilitate care before, during, and after procedures.
* Act as a point of contact for patients and families, answering queries, signposting services, and ensuring a positive experience.
* Communicate sensitively and effectively with patients and families, offering reassurance and escalating concerns when required.
