Security Officer - NRC Loughborough
* £12.75 per hour
* 42 hours per week
* 4 on 4 off shift pattern
* Shifts from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
* SIA Licence required
We are currently recruiting a motivated Security Officer to ensure safety at Defence sites on a full-time basis, contracted for 42 hours per week.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Patrol premises and manage alarm systems
* Follow schedules of checks in accordance with procedures
* Respond to incidents, emergencies, and abusive behaviour
* Undertake verbal de-escalation and, if trained, restrictive practices in a professional, legal, and policy-compliant manner
* Complete daily reports of accidents and incidents
* Support patients, visitors, and staff in difficult situations
* Escort staff, manage lost property and keys, and assist police if needed
* Use IT software related to security and parking operations
* Operate CCTV and security software (SIA licence required for CCTV)
* Provide crowd or traffic control as needed
* Comply with all policies, procedures, and risk assessments
* Perform cleaning duties using manual, mechanical, and robotic equipment as scheduled
* Replenish and clean retail units and respond to assistance calls
* Remain flexible to work at nearby units if required
Our ideal Security Officer will:
* Hold a valid SIA licence
* Possess excellent communication and customer service skills
* Have a good understanding of security procedures
* Be well-organized
* Have good numeracy, reading, and writing skills
* Work well under pressure
* Have a keen eye for detail
* Understand relevant health & safety, criminal laws, and operations
