Protocol Education are currently working with a specialist SEND school in Sunderland that supports pupils aged 4–19 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The school specialises in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) alongside additional learning and communication needs.
The setting provides a highly structured and supportive environment where pupils benefit from clear routines, visual communication strategies and personalised learning programmes. Class sizes are small and teachers work closely with a team of experienced Teaching Assistants and therapists to ensure pupils receive the support they require.
As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that are adapted to meet the individual learning needs of pupils within your class.
The role will involve:
• Planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes
• Supporting pupils with communication and social interaction
• Creating a structured and supportive classroom environment
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
• Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to support pupil development
The school is seeking a patient, dedicated and adaptable teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with autism.
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Candidates should ideally have a valid DBS registered on the Update Service. If you do not currently have one, you will be required to apply for a DBS through Protocol Education before starting work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
