Brief Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Occupational Health Nurse to lead and coordinate our occupational health services across multiple sites within our regional clinic network. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of occupational health and safety are maintained, in line with Network Rail’s policies.
About the role (External)
What does the average day look like?
In this role, no two days are the same. You'll lead and coordinate a skilled team of occupational health nurses and technicians, ensuring efficient clinical operations across multiple sites and maintaining optimal staffing levels. You'll uphold Network Rail’s occupational health standards, managing key areas such as health surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, and medical fitness-to-work assessments, all while staying abreast of legislative changes. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll help shape and improve service delivery, offering expert technical advice and driving continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing case management for both short- and long-term sickness absence, providing strategic input on rehabilitation and redeployment. You'll deliver insightful business reporting and analysis to support decision-making and lead on quality assurance through regular audits. With a strong focus on clinical supervision and adherence to NMC standards, you’ll also design and deliver impactful training programmes to upskill your team and ensure high-quality care.
Essential Criteria
* Registered nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register or Part 3 Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - OH
* Postgraduate qualification in OH, and proven postgraduate Occupational Health experience in a safety-critical environment
* Experience of managing a team of occupational health resources
* Knowledge of occupational health management and risk assessment processes
* Experience working in the management of a clinical environment
* Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR compliance
* Travel within the regional location area is essential
