Why this job matters
As a lead consultant in our Defence Solution Design Authority practice, you will be working as a trusted industry partner to our defence customer and cross-functionally supporting internal business units (Sales, Business, Technology, Security, and Operations), key stakeholders, and externally facing third-party technology providers as part of and reporting into the practice manager.
You will work with internal key stakeholders, the customer, and its subsidiary departments to conceptualise their strategic vision, capture requirements, and create innovative, fit-for-purpose digital solutions aligning with their digital strategy to transform their business operations.
Underpinned by robust ICT framework architecture, security principles, methodologies, industry best practices, and customer compliance policies, you will provide expert solution architecture expertise and ownership throughout all stages of the solutions design lifecycle.
You will be part of an industry-leading Solution Design Authority team working closely with other architects, designers, technology experts, business managers, and business analysts, bringing your expertise to ensure successful solution delivery across various sensitive and unique projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Engaging with the customer, business stakeholders, and key partners to provide end-to-end architecture governance, leadership, and solution decision-making aligned with the Solution Design Authority principles.
* Developing and owning enterprise architecture artifacts, strategies, and roadmaps from business and technology perspectives, including current ('as-is'), future ('to-be'), and transitional states addressing stakeholder requirements.
* Providing subject matter expertise to key stakeholders in shaping and qualifying complex service change, delivery, and resource requirements.
* Responding to complex customer requests for information, contract change notifications, solution design proposals, and bids throughout all stages of the engagement lifecycle.
* Delivering architecture outcomes such as proof of concept, whitepapers, bid documents, and high-level designs addressing customer requirements and complex scenarios.
Skills And Experience
* Enterprise networks (IP Layer 1-7)
* Enterprise network security and boundary protection
* Service provider networks (e.g., DWDN, SDH, OTN)
* ICT vendor technologies and products (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, Nokia)
* Industry architecture methodologies & languages (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL, BPMN)
* Experience with enterprise architecture tools (e.g., iServer, IBM Doors)
* Responding to complex, multi-vendor propositions and bids based on customer requirements (RFI, PQQ, ITN, ITT)
* Developing solution roadmaps and governance structures aligned with customer needs
