A wide-ranging but ‘hands-on’ role within the finance department, focused on reconciling and maintaining the group bank accounts and cash position.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting:
* Daily reconciliation of bank accounts / cash book
* Posting bank transactions and managing bank account balances
* Set up and call direct debits as required
* Export and process payments – weekly wages, monthly salaries, scrap account transactions, suppliers
* Process adhoc payments as required – Proforma, deposits etc
* Manage Scrapyard transactions, generate, post & reconcile transactions in accounting systems
* Generate and post Journals as necessary
* Support the external auditors and provide all relevant information during the annual audit process
Subcontractors:
* Create and verify new subcontractors
* Input and allocate weekly subcontractors’ invoices
* Input applications
* Generate and process weekly Subcontractors payments
* Generate and submit Monthly CIS return / payment
What we’re looking for
* Experience in a similar role within small and medium organisations (minimum 2 years)
* Familiarity with different account systems (ideally Integrity /Mardak/ Evo M/ Fred experience)
* Good systems skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook (pivot tables, vlookups)
* Experience of audit and dealing with auditors
* Able to communicate effectively, build rapport and develop constructive relationships
* Able to work independently and use judgement to decide correct course of action
* Able to present information in a clear and informative format for both financial and non-financial users
* Accurate, efficient, and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed
* Team player with a pro-active and flexible attitude
