The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Primary School Bursar to join a welcoming primary school in the South Ribble area from 1st June. This is a full-time role offered initially on a long-term temporary basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Working closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, you will play a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the school’s financial and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the school’s financial systems, including budgets, forecasting, and monitoring expenditure
* Processing payroll information, invoices, and purchase orders
* Overseeing income, banking, and financial reporting
* Managing contracts, facilities, and health & safety compliance
* Supporting HR and staffing administration where required
* Acting as a key liaison with external providers and local authority services
About You
* Previous experience working as a school bursar or in a similar financial/administrative role (school-based experience preferred)
* Strong financial management and organisational skills
* Confident using financial management systems and Microsoft Office
* Able to work independently while supporting the wider school team
* Professional, reliable, and approachable
