We are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established and supportive Early Years nursery in the WN2 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Early Years practitioner looking to step into a leadership role within a high-quality setting.
The Role
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the setting while ensuring a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment for children aged 0–5 years.
You will also act as a lead practitioner, modelling outstanding practice and supporting the development of the wider nursery team.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the management and daily operations of the nursery
Deputising for the Nursery Manager when required
Delivering and supporting staff with the EYFS curriculum
Supervising, mentoring and supporting nursery practitioners
Acting as a key person, monitoring children’s learning and development
Ensuring the nursery meets Ofsted and safeguarding requirements
Building strong partnerships with parents, carers and external professionals
Supporting with staff appraisals, supervisions and training
Assisting with the organisation of resources and the overall quality of provision
Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (minimum requirement)
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
At least 1 year experience in a senior practitioner / room leader role
Experience supporting children aged 0–5 years
Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
Paediatric First Aid
Safeguarding training
Food Hygiene certificate
Additional leadership or early years training
