Technical Manager — Location: Greater Manchester • Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
* Policy Implementation: Ensure all central Food Safety & Quality (FSAQ) policies and procedures are effectively implemented at the site level.
* Operations Management: Oversee daily technical operations, maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
* Expert Guidance: Act as the subject matter expert for technical matters at the site, providing necessary guidance and support.
* Incident Management: Lead the initial response to technical incidents, ensuring timely investigation, documentation, and corrective actions.
* Audit Preparation: Maintain site readiness for internal and external audits, coordinating with central teams as needed.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive local improvement initiatives in alignment with central strategies.
* Reporting: Regularly update site leadership and the central FSAQ team on progress and challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of relevant UK and EU legislation, BRC, and RSPO standards.
* Proficient in HACCP (minimum Level 3).
* Strong understanding of GMP procedures and Health and Safety regulations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and independently.
* Clean driver’s licence and willingness to work overtime occasionally.
