We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at [School Name], a specialist secondary school for pupils aged [11-19] with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs. The Role Support students in class, small groups, or one-to-one under the direction of the class teacher. Help implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and behaviour support strategies. Foster positive relationships and promote social, emotional, and independence skills. Assist with personal care and physical needs where required. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality support. Encourage participation, engagement, and confidence in every learner. About You Experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs (in school or care settings). A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training (e.g. Team Teach, autism awareness, Makaton). GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.
