Robert Half are partnering with a large, private-equity–backed professional services organisation operating within the insurance and risk services sector. The business has a significant UK presence alongside an international footprint, supporting a broad client base through complex, high-volume service offerings.
The organisation is continuing to grow and evolve, investing heavily in its finance function to strengthen controls, reporting, and insight. As part of this journey, they are looking to hire a talented Finance Manager to join their London-based team on a full-time basis.
Role
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing core financial operations for the UK business, with a particular focus on order-to-cash, balance sheet integrity, internal reporting, and treasury management. Managing a team of three, this role combines hands-on technical accounting with leadership and stakeholder engagement across Finance, Operations, and Corporate teams in both the UK and US.
Key responsibilities include:
* Owning the end-to-end order-to-cash process, ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and cash collection.
* Leading the month-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP and UK GAAP.
* Maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and resolving complex accounting issues.
* Developing and embedding strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
* Managing daily transactional activity in collaboration with UK teams and an offshore shared service centre.
* Improving intercompany accounting and reconciliation processes.
* Producing variance analysis and financial commentary for the UK Executive, FP&A, and Group Finance stakeholders.
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing insight into performance drivers and risks.
* Overseeing treasury management and cash reporting, improving visibility and efficiency across platforms.
* Recruiting, developing, and leading members of the accounting team, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
* Partnering with international finance teams and contributing to systems and process improvement initiatives.
Profile
The ideal profile for this Finance Manager position will have:
* Full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Strong technical accounting background with experience of US GAAP (essential).
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role within a complex, fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrable experience managing teams and working with shared service centres.
* Strong balance sheet, revenue recognition, and contract accounting experience.
* Confidence operating in a private equity-backed or high-growth organisation.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to work across all levels of the business.
* A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to drive process and control improvements.
Salary and Package
£70,000 - £75,000 + additional benefits including:

The salary range/rates of pay are dependent upon your experience, qualifications, and training.
