Two exciting opportunities have arisen to work in Homelessness Prevention supporting residents of Oxford.
The Early Intervention and Sustainment Teams are part of the Homelessness Prevention Team in the Housing Needs Department at Oxford City Council. They are responsible alongside the other homelessness prevention teams for duties placed on local authorities to prevent homelessness in accordance with Housing Act 1996 .
The team works with certain clients to ensure that the client receives support to prevent homelessness.
They also work with clients to assess needs due to issues with the affordability of a tenancy, this may be due to rental shortfalls such as the Benefit Cap, Local Housing Allowance or the Bedroom Tax, or due to issues with Universal Credit.
As part of the team, you will work with colleagues across our Housing Needs Team and wider to find solutions. Great communication skills, a desire to work with people both customers and partner agencies are a key requirement in these roles and if you have those skills we would love to hear from you.
The team prides itself on its culture; where both management and colleagues are supportive, personal development is valued, and staff are empowered to challenge the status quo.
