About the Role:
We are seeking skilled Locum Healthcare Assistants to support GP practices in Somerset. Whether you're looking for ad-hoc shifts, short-term placements, or regular locum work, we can offer flexible opportunities to suit your availability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care within a GP practice setting.
* Conduct NHS Health Checks and support chronic disease management.
* Perform clinical duties such as blood pressure checks, ECGs, phlebotomy, and urinalysis.
* Administer vaccinations (if trained) and assist with wound care.
* Provide health promotion advice and support patients with lifestyle changes.
* Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and the wider healthcare team.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
* Competency in phlebotomy, ECGs, health checks, and basic wound care.
* Relevant Care Certificate or equivalent healthcare qualifications.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to different practice environments.
