About the Role
Based in Birmingham with UK travel. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to lead and support ethical compliance, labour provider due diligence, and skilled worker management across our sites. This role is critical in ensuring our operations meet customer requirements, legal obligations, and internal standards for ethical practices and workforce management.
Key Responsibilities:-
General Compliance
* Own and update relevant policies, statements, and procedures related to ethics, modern slavery, and human rights.
* Deliver internal and external training on key risk areas including accommodation management, immigration compliance, right to work, and ethical audit management.
* Ensure accommodation compliance through risk assessments, safety checks, and maintenance aligned with regulatory and best practice standards.
* Manage safety checks using iAuditor and other applicable formats.
* Conduct spot checks on accommodation standards and oversee resolution of identified issues.
Ethical Audits
* Coordinate and book SMETA audits with approved providers in line with customer requirements and Codes of Conduct.
* Conduct on-site pre-audit assessments covering labour standards, health & safety, contractor management, and environmental practices.
* Develop and monitor action plans to address audit findings.
* Support sites in completing required actions promptly and collaborate with central departments as needed.
* Communicate risks, outcomes, and corrective actions to stakeholders through agreed reporting channels.
Labour Provider Due Diligence
* Maintain the Preferred Supplier List (PSL) and liaise with external auditors to schedule and complete pre-supply and annual audits.
* Assess compliance of labour providers and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
* Monitor service level agreements, including annual reviews aligned with April pay/charge rate changes and regular service review meetings.
Skilled Worker Management
* Oversee the full overseas recruitment lifecycle, working with agencies and sites to ensure timely and complete staffing.
* Manage Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) allocation, visa applications, payments, and coordination of arrivals.
* Ensure timely visa renewals/extensions and support sites with application processes.
* Maintain compliance with UKVI regulations through Sponsorship Management System reporting and site audits.
* Liaise with solicitors and external parties to resolve complex immigration issues.
What we are looking for:-
* Strong understanding of ethical compliance, ethical trading, labour standards, and immigration regulations preferably within FMCG.
* Experience in social auditing (SMETA, GRASP etc)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
* Demonstratable knowledge of UK employment law, Modern Slavery Act and industry standards such as ETI.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

* Good English speaking and writing skills
