Job Description: IT Consultant
Fairland is a pan-European IT infrastructure consultancy specialising in the hospitality sector. We design, deliver and support resilient technology environments for some of the most respected hospitality brands across the UK and Europe.
Our expertise spans networking, Wi-Fi, cybersecurity, virtualisation, cloud, CCTV, IPTV, VoIP and critical backend infrastructure, supporting enterprise hospitality environments across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for ambitious IT Consultants, from foundation to senior level, to join our growing consulting team.
As an experienced professional, you will be working with our clients or their stakeholders directly to analyse, design, deliver and support technology projects that help clients improve operational performance, security and scalability, improve efficiency or security, and overcome technology-related challenges, as well as working with in-house technical teams to ensure consistency of use, among other duties.
Your ability to communicate understandable technical information to non-technical stakeholders will be critical to the success of the projects you work on, as is the documentation you provide. Reports to:
o Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Your responsibilities will include:
o Understanding the client's requirements to develop proposals and suggest solutions to help them meet their business objectives
o Assessing the current IT systems and infrastructure of clients to identify areas for improvement and optimisation
o Collaborating with clients to understand their business objectives and provide strategic IT recommendations that align with their goals
o Determining project requirements and goals, defining the scope of the engagement, and planning timelines
o Leading IT projects from inception to completion, managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively
o Advising on cybersecurity measures and data protection best practices to safeguard critical information and systems
o Evaluating new technologies and software applications, recommending the most suitable solutions for clients' needs
o Providing training and support to clients' IT teams to ensure successful implementation

o Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, sharing insights with clients to drive continuous improvement
o Working in a team of consultants and support personnel on various engagements
Key Requirements:
o Depending on your level of entry, we would prefer 3 to 10 years of experience (Foundation / Senior), preferably in a technology-based firm.
o You have proven experience as an IT Consultant or similar role, demonstrating successful project management and client engagement.
o You possess sound / robust knowledge in technologies such as virtualisation, Local, Wireless, & Wide Area Networks, storage solutions, cybersecurity, Windows Server and disaster recovery, as well as network administration and an understanding of cloud computing.
o You have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex IT challenges to develop effective solutions.
o You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, including report writing and documentation.
o You have the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
o You have a passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning.
o Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP, Microsoft Azure, Fortinet NSE, Ruckus certifications Solutions Expert, VMware VCP-DCV).
o You take ownership of technical delivery and maintain high standards of professionalism, documentation and customer communication throughout engagements
Work conditions:
o The role involves regular travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
o Periods working away from home, both in the UK and Abroad, are sometimes required.
o A Passport with the ability to travel to countries in the EU as well as the US.
o Usual working hours are 9:00 to 17:30
o Location of work – will either be client site, office or from home on occasions when agreed
o by manager.
Remuneration:
o Will be relevant to your entry level but will be above market average.
o Senior consultants can expect a six-figure package & expense account.
o Twenty-two days holiday plus Bank Holidays. Total 30 days.

Environment:
o You will work closely with our internal team, building relationships with clients & key suppliers – occasionally attending events/ lunches/ team building etc.
o Your views & ideas will be considered as we work collaboratively and encourage our team to take ownership of projects with Managers available to support & guide where appropriate.
