As a WMS Consultant, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of Blue Yonder WMS within our logistics operations. You will work in a cross‑functional project team, translating business requirements into effective IT solutions.
Responsibilities
* Support the Rhenus implementation teams with all tasks related to customer implementation projects within the IT/WMS policies of Rhenus, including tuning requirements, configuration of BY WMS, drafting specifications for developments (interfaces, labels, and forms), testing solutions, training key users, Go‑Live migration tasks, and resolution of incidents (troubleshooting).
* Provide advice to solution design during the sales process, ensuring feasibility and alignment with WMS standards.
* Participate in design sessions with the customer and other Rhenus disciplines such as logistics engineers, operations, etc., to capture requirements and provide a detailed WMS solution design.
* Support similar business projects such as process improvements and (customer) change requests.
* Collect wishes from business stakeholders and drive implementation project teams to develop deliverable, SMART requirements within project timelines. Document the development specifications for business integrations (interfaces) with customers, forms, and labels. Challenge stakeholders to get approvals for requirements and development specifications.
* Provide solutions within the configuration possibilities of BY WMS and challenge stakeholders to accept configurable solutions. If not possible (or significantly inefficient), define developments for extensions in consultation with Rhenus senior WMS experts (Solution Architects and Design Authority).
* Ensure solutions maximise the available WMS solution standards (Rhenus "Core") and advocate for configurable solutions.
* Within your expertise team of WMS consultants, provide guidance and support to junior employees (if applicable).
* Act as second‑line support for incidents and change requests.
* You will work with our fellow consultants in the regional Northwest team on implementations in the Netherlands, the UK and Denmark. Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, IT, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in WMS systems (BlueYonder or a similar top‑end WMS solution such as Manhattan, SAP) in different subject‑matter roles, both implementation and upgrade projects and support.
* Proven experience with integration projects for customers, preferably multi‑location supply chains, with the responsibility to configure WMS.
* Knowledge and experience BY WMS is a strong prerequisite.
* Knowledge of SQL, and experience in developing with reporting/label tools is a plus (e.g., Jasper reports, Zebra tools).
* Background in logistics and warehousing is preferred.
