We have an exciting opportunity for Clinical Support Workers vacancies on Ward 29 Medical Short Stay Ward.
We are currently looking for a permanent Clinical Support Worker who is enthusiastic and motivated to join the team of General Medical/Elderly Care Ward.

A flexible approach to the hours of work is required; this includes long days (07:00-19:30) and night shifts (19:00-07:30) includes weekends and bank holidays.

Job Responsibilities
* Assist in undertaking activities of living in accordance with the care plan prescribed by qualified staff; duties include delivery of hygiene care, nutrition and hydration, continence care, pressure area care, mobility and rehabilitation and offer psychological support.
* Assist in taking and recording patients' observations.
* Report changes to patients’ health status to trained nurse for action.
* Support registered nursing staff with clinical treatments and investigations as appropriate, to the level of knowledge and skill. This may include the escort of patients to other departments within the hospital and on occasion to other departments and specialist units off site.
* Therapeutically engage with patients and their families, some of which will have dementia.
* Be part of the wider MDT and make a daily contribution to the care patients receive.
Person Specification
Essential qualifications
* QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification/relevant experience
* GCSE Maths & English
* Care Certificate or ability to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
Experience
* Experience in a healthcare environment
* Prepared to undergo further training
Skills
* Applicants must be literate and numerate and good communication skills are important
* Ability to communicate appropriately with patients, relatives and/or carers
* Positive and enthusiastic approach to work
