Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable qualified District Manager to join our caring and progressive Kent School Health service.

Our school nursing teams provide support to families with children aged five to 19. This is a varied and interesting role, working closely with local schools to provide the best possible start in life for Kent children.

You will work as part of a team to keep children safe and well by using your clinical judgment to support evidence-based care planning and make sure that children and families who use our services have a good experience.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the people who use our services, families,
friends and carers and play an important contribution in how people experience our services.
You are expected to have a key leadership role, acting as a role model for others. They will communicate and maintain excellent working relationships with all those that use, commission and work
within the services delivered. They will undertake direct clinical work for a minimum 60% of their time
You will be responsible for ensuring that the team provides effective care planning which meets professional standards and is in collaboration with their services users and carers. They facilitate reflection on the service delivery and identification of quality improvement work.

Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

1. Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration)
2. Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
3. Experience in health improvement environment

Desirable criteria

4. Working towards Master level study

Qualifications

5. Specialist Community Public Health Nurse

Desirable criteria

6. PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education, or Practice Assessor

Experience

7. Experience in area of practice
8. Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads
9. Experience of leading and managing teams Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management

10. Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ CIS)
