Overview
Sourcing Specialist - Buying/Procurement role at Arabelle Solutions. This position is based at our site in Rugby and focuses on sourcing activity for a large-scale project involving site development, including construction, labour and machinery investment. The role requires ownership of sourcing activities and management of a small number of key suppliers to ensure delivery to the project timing schedule.
Due to security requirements, applicants must hold or be capable of obtaining SC Level clearance, be a British citizen, and have been working or have residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority.
Key responsibilities
* Negotiate/manage existing terms and conditions, manage claims and vendor recovery
* Order fulfilment tasks to ensure material on-time delivery, PO placement and invoice management; expediting
* Coordinate across multiple teams to ensure on-track completion of core milestones
* Review supplier performance (schedule, CoQ, Manufacturing, Quality) to identify risks to the program and develop mitigation plans
* Identify and deliver value-adding opportunities from the supply chain
* Manage and improve supplier relationships and communicate problems and solutions with internal and external customers at senior levels
Qualifications/Requirements
* Demonstrable experience in sourcing and procurement, with in-depth experience in high-value and complex projects; defence or power industry experience is beneficial but not essential
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple workstreams and meet timelines
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills with interpersonal and facilitation abilities
* Self-starter with drive, able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
* Motivation, teamwork, trust, credibility and effective communication at all levels internally and externally
Desired Characteristics
* Existing SC holder preferred, but we will support in the application process
* Experience in defence or power industry products
* Main suppliers are UK-based; ability to travel weekly if required
* Schedule management skills and some experience in managing sourcing projects
* Quality/Supplier Quality experience is beneficial
* Interpersonal skills, ability to manage people and contract-related issues
* Proactive and pragmatic approach to supplier management
* Able to adapt quickly to project situations
* Experience in change management (engineering, quality, escalations, reporting to senior management)
* Experience with SAP and Microsoft tools including MS Project
