Axcis Education is expanding our team of ASD specialist Teaching Assistants to support students in a specialist setting in Salford and Greater Manchester. Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), you will: •Use evidence-based resources such as Boxall profile or Zones of regulation •Help implement and review behaviour support plans •Use accredited de-escalation strategies- from Team Teach •Be aware of strategies such as emotion coaching and social stories •Support emotional regulation and develop pupils’ social skills •Work closely with class teachers, resource manager and external professionals •Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive •Help track progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) You’ll work in an inclusive and specialist setting that supports students aged 11-19, with and EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) Our schools are committed to: •Creating emotionally safe spaces for all learners •Developing whole-child approaches to education •Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families •Developing a face based ethos •Provide students with a range of extra-curricular activities We want to hear from you if you: •Have at least two years’ experience working with children with ASD needs or behaviour that challenges •Have knowledge of trauma-informed approaches (ACE’S) and emotional regulation strategies •Have a calm, consistent and compassionate approach •Can form strong relationships and build trust •Have a background in education, mental health, youth work, or social care, residential care NB: Candidates must have a *CHILD & ADULT DBS* or be willing to pay for one.
