NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a PMO Specialist.

The NHS Supply Chain business has an ongoing ambitious transformation portfolio which is driven in large part, by the modernisation of much of the IT technology estate and implementation of new capabilities in the logistics network.

Management, steering and coordination of all key transformation activities is structured under a set of programmes and projects which, combined, form a single change plan across all aspects of NHS Supply Chain.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Project Management Office Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on enjoys driving clarity and alignment across strategic initiatives. As a PMO Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting portfolio, programme and project governance, reporting, and analysis. You’ll work closely with project and programme teams to ensure that key themes, risks, and priorities are identified, understood, and communicated effectively across the organisation.

You will have the opportunity to work with all our different business areas and deliver change which really drives value for our end customers across the NHS. You will also have an opportunity to bring ideas and experience forward to help drive continuous improvement in the way that we deliver change.

Every day you will …

* Be responsible for the effective support portfolio and programme–level planning, tracking, and reporting to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
* Build and maintain programme and project plans, able to provide guidance and best practice to project delivery teams.
* Support the identification of connecting key themes, dependencies, and priorities across programmes and projects.
* Use PMO tools, templates, and dashboards to improve visibility and control.
* Support insightful analysis to inform decision-making and highlight areas of opportunity or concern.
* Facilitate governance forums, preparing high-quality reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
* Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistent application of PMO standards and practices.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

* Previous experience of working as a PMO Specialist, or in a position supporting Support portfolio and programme–level planning, tracking, and reporting.
* A good understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall/Agile) and change management principles.
* Experience with PMO tools, templates, and dashboards to improve visibility and control.
* Relevant PPM qualification (e.g. APM, Prince 2) or equivalent level of experience
* Prior experience in managing change projects at all stages from business analysis and requirement gathering through to execution and post go live evaluation
* Good understanding of Logistics, Supply Chain and eRetailer organisations (Desirable)
* Experience and knowledge of healthcare sector either public or private (Desirable)
