We’re looking for a skilled Technical Engineer to join our Professional Services team. This is a varied, hands‑on role providing both remote and onsite technical support to clients, as well as contributing to the planning and delivery of technical projects.
Reporting to the Lead Consultant, you’ll work closely with Solutions Consultants, Account Managers and client stakeholders, helping to resolve complex issues, improve IT infrastructure, and support long‑term technology roadmaps. In some cases, you may act as a client’s IT Manager or provide senior technical guidance alongside their internal IT team.
What you’ll be doing
* Deliver proactive and reactive technical support to clients, both remotely and onsite
* Act as an escalation point for the Helpdesk team
* Carry out technical tasks to ensure all client deliverables are completed to a high standard
* Identify and recommend IT infrastructure improvements to support client innovation and growth
* Assist with the planning and delivery of technical projects
* Attend proactive and reactive client site visits to meet contractual and service obligations
* Produce clear activity reports following client visits
* Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
* Work closely with Account Managers to ensure consistent service delivery
* Keep technical knowledge up to date through training and development
What we’re looking for
* Around 3+ years’ experience working within an MSP, VAR or reseller environment (field, support or service desk)
* Strong client‑facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships
* Good understanding of Microsoft technologies, with essential knowledge of Microsoft Cloud solutions
* Intermediate–advanced experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365
* Experience with Hyper‑V and other virtualisation platforms
* Hands‑on experience supporting on‑premise server hardware and software, including Exchange
* Knowledge of networking, firewalls, backup solutions and antivirus
* Awareness of UK GDPR data privacy requirements
* Ability to prioritise workload and deliver tasks to deadlines
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Microsoft Administrator Associate (or equivalent) certification is desirable
* Friendly, professional and hardworking approach
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
