Senior Security Consultant (Detection / SOAR / Automation / Integration)
UK-Wide – Remote (Travel to Reading once per month).
Base Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum + Technical Development & Certifications
Areti are delighted to be supporting a rapidly expanding cybersecurity business in their search for a Senior Security Consultant to join their high-performing UK team.
This award-winning organisation partners with global enterprises to deliver end-to-end security automation, orchestration, and threat detection solutions. Following sustained growth across the UK and Europe, they are now seeking a technically driven consultant who thrives on building, automating, and enhancing complex security environments.
The Role
As a Senior Security Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimising detection and response workflows across enterprise environments. You’ll bring a deep understanding of SOAR, SIEM, and end-to-end automation, helping customers improve their security posture through innovation, integration, and process efficiency.
This isn’t just about following best practice - it’s about defining it. You’ll work collaboratively with both technical and business teams, advising, leading, and at times, telling the organisation what they need to do to achieve true security automation maturity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and optimise automated detection and response workflows across diverse environments.
* Develop integrations between tools, platforms, and data sources using Python, PowerShell, and API-driven orchestration.
* Advise customers and internal teams on security operations, automation strategy, and continuous improvement.
* Lead the design and deployment of SOAR and SIEM solutions (Splunk, Cortex XSOAR, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.).
* Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to deliver scalable, automated processes that improve efficiency and detection accuracy.
* Act as a trusted advisor - challenging, guiding, and shaping both technical and strategic decisions.
About You
You might currently be working as a Detection Engineer, SOC Engineer, or SOAR Engineer, but you’re the person who’s always asking, “What have I automated?” You’ve built integrations, improved workflows, and you think in systems - not silos.
You enjoy building things from scratch, solving problems through automation, and bringing ideas to life. You’re proactive, confident, and comfortable steering technical direction when it’s needed.
Ideal Experience:
* Hands-on experience with SOAR, SIEM, and security automation platforms.
* Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and REST APIs for integration and workflow development.
* Strong understanding of security operations, incident response, and threat detection processes.
* Experience with orchestration and automation in cloud and hybrid environments.
* Proven ability to advise and influence both technical and business stakeholders.
