Assistant Accountant Based in Hertfordshire £35,000 - £40,000 plus experience About the Role An established and growing business based in St Albans is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly finance team. You'll work closely with an experienced Financial Controller, supporting all aspects of day-to-day accounting and gaining exposure across both private and commercial client accounts. Key Responsibilities Process purchase ledger transactions and input invoices accurately into accounting and CRM systems. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries professionally and promptly. Assist with weekly BACS payment runs, sales invoicing, and credit control activities. Support balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and VAT return preparation. Prepare CIS deduction statements, process expense claims, and assist with month-end reporting About You Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks. Proficient in Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage (training provided). Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
