Coyles are currently on the search for a Project Manager with a background in Construction, Maintenance, Mechanical & Engineering, spanning both the Commercial and Domestic sectors, for a company local to Chelsmford, Essex. The company has a regional presence throughout Essex and London.
Job brief:
We are looking for a skilled project manager to oversee and run numerous projects. Projects will range from small maintenance works to medium scaled construction projects (> £1000
to £300-400k).
Candidate will be need to be Self motivated and be able to work to deadlines. Understand project costing and in delivering projects within Budget and contractual requirements. Control and monitor the use of all resources both internal and external sub-contractors to maximise. Undertaking project administration as required. Ensure timely delivery of project updates and site records are maintained including site inductions; records, project photographs, materials and good record, labour and plant record.
Carry out ‘Tool box’ talks and maintain records. Ensure H&S procedures and policies are adhered to. Identify the need for Risk Assessment/Safe systems of work.
Work will take candidate to all parts of Essex and into London
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the project ensuring the work is completed safely, within budget and the required quality by effectively organising and managing the site activities.
2. Responsible for managing the project from pre-start to handover and including addressing any snagging work required.
3. Regularly update the Program Planner with status of projects including overall program periods, start on site date and any other notes relevant to the progression of the project.
4. Responsible for ensuring that the works are executed in a manner consistent with the terms andconditions of the contract and that all applicable legal requirements are complied with in the design and construction of a project.
5. Managing variations and obtaining client approvals for any changes in project schedule.
Requirements:
6. Proven experience within required sectors
7. Good knowledge of excel and Teams
8. Be able to use MS Projects to create a project plan and Monitor/ Update.
9. Understanding architectural drawings & Understanding of engineers specifications / drawings and interpretation to site as required
10. Great attention to detail
11. Well-organised and reliable
12. Full UK Driving License
13. CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) (Required)
14. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) (Required)
15. Contracting Project Management: 2 years (Preferred)
16. Previous Site management is essential : min 5 years (Required)
17. Proven track record in delivering successful projects
18. Leadership skills and organisational skills
19. Excellent communication skills
