Role Overview
Continue your professional development in a well‑supported and innovative OT service within our acute medical and orthopaedic team at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to identify meaningful goals, provide assessments, identify appropriate interventions, and support patients’ independence and discharge from hospital.
Responsibilities
* Carry an independent caseload of patients and deliver occupational therapy intervention to a high standard.
* Provide specialist OT assessment, intervention, rehabilitation and discharge planning to ensure safe and timely discharge.
* Work closely with the MDT, Principal OT, Discharge Liaison Team and local authorities to ensure effective cross‑boundary and agency working.
* Provide supervision and support to junior members of the team and student Occupational Therapists.
* Participate in research, audit and quality improvement projects to deliver evidence‑based, high‑quality interventions.
* Manage caseload efficiently and flexibly to prevent avoidable admissions and facilitate efficient discharge planning.
Qualifications & Skills
* Motivated, enthusiastic with exceptional communication and people skills.
* Excellent self‑management skills.
* Desirable: Welsh speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above.
