The Opportunity
As a Transport Manager, you will:
* Manage relationships with van contractors, carriers, and pallet networks to handle 100,000+ annual home deliveries
* Recruit and manage van contractors to support peak season volumes (March-September)
* Review delivery routes and planning using tools like Paragon
* Analyse delivery data to find improvement opportunities, especially in high-volume regions
* Negotiate rates and contracts for oversized, bulky freight
* Manage transportation budgets and control costs
* Implement and manage transportation software/systems
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for home delivery logistics
Ideal Candidate
* 5+ years of experience managing national residential deliveries for oversized products
* Strong understanding of van contractor, carrier, and pallet network delivery models
* Skilled at routing and planning for high-volume, seasonal deliveries
* Excellent at managing third-party logistics provider relationships and performance
* Strong analytical skills to interpret delivery data/metrics
* Great negotiation skills to secure competitive freight rates
* Knowledgeable about UK freight regulations and compliance
* Transportation certification (CPC) is a plus

* Those without experience managing home delivery of bulky, oversized products
