We are looking to recruit an Energy Adviser with relevant knowledge and skills to deliver a reactive Energy Advice Service. The post is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme until 31st May 2028. The service will be managed by Southside Housing Association and will be available to three other Housing Associations in the Southside of Glasgow: New Gorbals, Cathcart & District, Craigdale Housing Association and to the Glasgow South Carer’s service.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist vulnerable and excluded households and facilitate access to fuel support services for individuals who are currently under‑represented.
* Help reduce fuel poverty, fuel debt, promote digital and financial inclusion, and enhance financial resilience.
* Educate clients on the most efficient way to use heating systems and identify other energy‑efficiency measures.
* Work closely with the existing Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service and other community support services, ensuring a holistic, person‑centred approach.
Qualifications and Skills
* Ability to work in a changing environment with competing pressures and a desire to learn new things while ensuring customers receive the best possible service.
* Competence in using IT packages.
* Valid driver’s licence; access to a vehicle for work use is desirable.
Salary and Benefits
* Funded post until 31.05.2028 (with the intention to apply for continued funding).
* Hours of work: 35 hours per week.
* EVH Grade: 5 (Point 16); salary: £35,332.
* 40 days leave (inclusive of statutory leave).
* Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
