Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor | Projects up to £30m
An established and award-winning main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of construction projects valued up to £30 million, working across a diverse portfolio including education, commercial, and healthcare developments.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this role offers significant responsibility and the chance to influence project performance while developing your career within a supportive and stable environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
*
Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
*
Prepare and manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract administration
*
Monitor variations, valuations, and payment applications
*
Ensure projects are delivered within budget while maximising profitability
*
Provide commercial advice and risk management throughout the project lifecycle
*
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and senior leadership
*
Produce accurate cost forecasts and monthly reports for senior management
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or experienced Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
*
Experience commercially managing construction projects up to £20m–£30m
*
Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
*
Experience across sectors such as education, healthcare, or commercial construction is advantageous
*
Excellent negotiation, financial management, and communication skills
*
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (preferred)
