Join Cavendish Nuclear to build a rewarding career in health, safety, and environmental management. This 3 to 4-year programme includes study toward NEBOSH qualifications while working on projects that protect people, safeguard the environment and support nuclear safety.
About the Programme
As a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Apprentice, you’ll be part of a dedicated team focused on ensuring colleagues go home safe every day and that sites and projects operate responsibly. You’ll be based in Warrington and support a range of work across Cavendish Nuclear, including engineering, project construction, and new build installation and commissioning.
You’ll be involved in meaningful work from the start, including supporting operations and projects, assisting with toolbox talks, contributing to assurance inspections and audits, helping with fire and operational risk assessments, and collaborating with corporate HSE teams. You’ll gain experience working on client contracts and engage with wider industry through safety forums and committees.
There will be opportunities to rotate across different teams and projects, including governance, assurance and compliance functions. You’ll develop communication skills and learn to provide professional safety advice to stakeholders. You’ll be supported by mentors to grow personally and professionally.
Your education/training
The apprenticeship combines classroom instruction with flexible e-learning. You will complete nationally recognised NEBOSH qualifications as part of a structured learning journey.
* NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
* NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety
* NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Environmental Management
* NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (DipNEBOSH)
Upon successful completion, you may use the post-nominal letters DipNEBOSH.
Future prospects
At the end of the apprenticeship, you could become a qualified Health and Safety Advisor with a salary exceeding £35,773. We’ll support continued development through the Babcock Role Framework, with pathways, leadership programmes and development opportunities.
