Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Technical Accountant to join this prestigious organisation in the newly created role of Financial Controller.The role will be responsible for the ongoing development and production of the consolidated Management Accounts for all entities in the Group. The role will also oversee the Technical Accounting for the group.You will deliver robust Financial Control, develop policies and procedures and be the lead for external audit. The role will also take the lead on major projects for the group.The role will also include;
3. Prepare the group accounts consolidation and all notes to the group accounts within your team, by working with the Excel model and following a robust preparation process and also work with our finance transformation team to embed the current Excel consolidation into a more technology driven model, to ensure year-end deadlines are met and current solutions are improved.
4. Maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory requirements, by working with and holding to account Finance and Governance operations and business partners and the wider business.
5. Deliver technical financial support, guidance and insight to support executive decision making, by being a member of relevant project groups and providing relevant reporting - this includes matters such as complex transactions and creation or acquisition of new trading activities, assets trading entities, funding mechanisms for strategic commercial investment programmes.
6. Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes through technology best practice adoption, working with wider Finance Transformation leadership team.
The Successful Applicant
The role of Financial Controller is pivotal in the success of the organisation and suitable candidates should have the following;
7. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) or equivalent.
8. This role will suit either a Manager/Senior Manager in a Practice looking to make their 1st step into a Financial Controller role or an established Group Financial Controller in a complex organisation
9. Excellent technical Accounting skills.
10. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
11. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
12. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
13. Ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
14. Strong communication skills to present financial insights to stakeholders

15. A competitive salary in the range of £70,000 to £80,000 per annum.
