First Task Professional are working with a leading, national specialist subcontractor to recruit a freelance Quantity Surveyor on a major project in Cardiff City. This contract is for an initial 5 months, but there are other projects coming online, should the successful candidate be happy to travel. Expectation from client is to be based on site 3 days a week, home/office 2 days.
Key Responsibilities
* Cost management and commercial control across live project
* Preparation, assessment, and agreement of interim applications and valuations
* Managing variations, change control, and any compensation events
* Supporting procurement activities and subcontract management
* Assisting with forecasting, cost reporting, and cash flow management
* Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
* Ensuring compliance with contract terms, procedures, and internal governance
* Working collaboratively with delivery teams
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within large subcontracting or main contracting environment.
* Strong knowledge of NEC & JCT contracts
* Excellent commercial awareness and stakeholder communication skills
* Eligible to work in the UK
