The North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in the Integrated Enfield Learning Disabilities Service. The role is community‑based, full‑time, and involves clinical and professional leadership, management activities, and development of clinical pathways.

Responsibilities
* Manage, appraise and supervise junior medical staff in accordance with Trust policies and the Working Time Directive.
* Ensure compliance with procedures for reporting concerns about professional conduct or competence.
* Maintain professional registration (GMC), Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and adherence to professional codes of conduct.
* Demonstrate compliance with legal obligations covering mental healthcare (Mental Health Act, Code of Practice, Mental Capacity Act, Children Act).
* Participate in annual appraisal and job plan reviews with the Clinical Director and Service Manager.
* Attend the Trust’s CPD program, lectures, and seminars.
* Comply with Royal College of Psychiatrists regulations on Continuing Medical Education.
* Perform administrative duties associated with patient care and accurately record clinical activity for the Information Department.
* Follow confidentiality guidelines and safe discharge procedures for in‑patients.
* Engage users in care and responsibility to carers.
* Ensure equitable access for people from all ethnic groups.
* Promote successful multidisciplinary working, liaise with local managers and consult colleagues on medical contributions to management.
* Participate in the financial management of services and support the medical director in preparing plans.
* Maintain good relationships with GPs, CCGs, social services, and voluntary sector organisations.
Essential Qualifications
* MB, BS or equivalent qualification.
* Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise at intended start date.
* Inclusion on the GMC Learning Disabilities Specialist Register or within six months.
* Approved clinician with Section 12 approval.
* Excellent knowledge and clinical skills using a biopsychosocial perspective.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty and make evidence‑based decisions.
* Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
* Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
* Ability to work in and lead a team and demonstrate shared leadership and collaborative working.
* Experience in research or service evaluation (where applicable).
Desirable Qualifications
* Higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Additional clinical qualification.
* Wide range of specialist and subspecialist experience within NHS or comparable service.
* Ability to plan and deliver teaching and training relevant to the post.
* Reflect on purpose of CPD undertaken.
* Experience in clinical research and/or service evaluation.
* Evidence of achievement in education, research, and audit.
* In good standing with GMC regarding warning and conditions on practice.
* Valid UK driving licence or evidence of alternative.
