Job Description
With offices located across the UK, AtkinsRéalis has a rich legacy of delivering exceptional support to clients both domestically and internationally. You could join our Rolling Stock Delivery team supporting and delivering the most prestigious rail projects across the UK. You would work at all levels on some of the most significant rail projects such as HS2, Elizabeth Line and the East Coast Digital Programme, providing strategic and technical advice to national and local government bodies, train leasing companies, financiers, train operators and manufacturers.
Your role
* To provide high quality advice and deliverables to UK and international clients, both as an individual or through your contribution within a team, leading some elements.
* To lead and/or be part of a team delivering complex projects and assignments. Contribute to existing and new work generated by other consultants as necessary, including supporting checking and review of deliverables.
* To work within a collaborative team, that is customer‑centric having shared learning, knowledge and improvement at its heart.
* To ensure an energetic approach is taken to seek business opportunities to solve clients' problems.
* To assist preparing, selling and delivering compelling propositions to rail companies and other clients across the world.
* To manage your own work and ensure assignments are undertaken in accordance with corporate requirements.
Example work activities
* Working on a variety of technical studies which may involve new rolling stock or refurbishments, maintenance and servicing considerations for existing fleets, building and expanding from your existing knowledge. Your work may be main line freight or passenger, metro and light rail projects.
* Working on rolling stock considerations in often varied and diverse aspects requiring flexibility and willingness in your approach, whilst adhering to safety, due governance and client requirements. This could include contractual/commercial support of ongoing technical projects such as fleet fitment programmes, or technical specification and requirements management of rolling stock, depots and infrastructure projects.
* Supporting emerging requirements of modern railways, in areas such as carbon reduction strategies, alternative propulsion projects (eg, battery/hydrogen), or digital projects such as ETCS implementation.
About you
* Have a good understanding of freight, main line passenger, metro or light rail rolling stock, rolling stock whole life care, or the railway system and/or regulation, or having identifiable and transferable skills that match the demands of the job description.
* Perhaps your experience is in manufacturing, or maintenance and depots, perhaps an operator or maybe an owner. Your skills, knowledge and experience in the UK and overseas could be key to us.
* Preferably a degree qualified Chartered Engineer, however we are open to any candidate who evidences the right skills, relevant experience and aptitude.
* Have drive, flexibility and the ability to adapt to clients demands and requirements.
* Good communication and presentation skills, and the ability to write clear and concise text.
* If you may be interested in limited travel, including the potential for some overseas.
