Overview
Senior Factory Manager (Protein) role at IPL International Procurement and Logistics. Based at the protein packaging facility in Normanton. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Contract type: Permanent.
Responsibilities
* Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development to meet agreed performance plans with budgets and timescales
* Establish and maintain systems for measuring operational performance
* Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans
* Manage and develop direct reporting staff including succession planning
* Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
* Collaborate with other functional/departmental managers to align operational objectives and communicate achievements
* Maintain awareness of contemporary operational development theory and interpret it for directors, managers and staff
* Contribute to evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance with the executive team
* Ensure activities comply with quality management, health and safety, legal, environmental policies and duty of care
* Present key information at management meetings
* Ensure a safe working environment and that areas/lines meet Site Safety Plan standards
* Embed high quality and food safety standards (GMP) and maintain hygiene and housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer
What we’re looking for
* Experience as a Production Manager/Operations Manager in a large-scale, fast-paced production environment (Food Manufacturing). Protein experience across bacon and cooked meats is advantageous
* Proven track record in operational management with strong leadership, motivation and development of teams
* Experience in coaching managers to drive results and improve operations
* Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and how to apply them in a business
* Ability to develop a people-centered culture focused on best practice in manufacturing
* High energy, autonomy, flexibility and stakeholder focus
* Resilience to handle setbacks and make proactive decisions
* Strong eye for quality with knowledge of quality processes and systems
