Nursery Chef - Full-Time, Year-Round | Wimbledon Are you a passionate and experienced Nursery Chef who loves creating nutritious meals for children? We are looking for a dedicated and organised Nursery Chef to join a warm and inclusive early years setting in Wimbledon, working full-time throughout the year - including during holiday club periods outside of term time. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in preparing healthy, balanced meals and understands the importance of food in supporting children's wellbeing, development, and daily routines. About the Setting Based in Wimbledon, this welcoming nursery caters for children aged 6 months to 5 years and offers a nurturing, play-based learning environment year-round. The nursery runs a Holiday Club during non-term time, and the on-site kitchen is a vital part of the setting's commitment to health, safety, and high standards of care. You'll be joining a supportive team who value teamwork, communication, and the role food plays in children's development. Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Chef: Plan and prepare healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in line with dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines. Cater to a variety of dietary needs including allergies, intolerances, religious or cultural requirements, and vegetarian/vegan diets. Ensure the kitchen meets Food Hygiene Standards and complies with Health & Safety regulations at all times. Order and manage stock efficiently, ensuring food is fresh, stored correctly, and within budget. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checks and records. Work closely with nursery management and staff to plan menus and support children's nutrition and enjoyment of food. Prepare meals during term time and holiday club periods, ensuring continuity of care and provision all year round. What We're Looking For: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate - essential. Previous experience working as a chef or cook, ideally within a nursery, school, care, or similar setting. Strong understanding of children's nutritional needs and safe food preparation practices. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently. Reliable, proactive, and flexible attitude, with a genuine care for children's wellbeing.
