Job Description:
We are recruiting for an Information Governance Manager in a new role to join our evolving and growing Governance team. The Information Governance Manager will be central to data protection and information governance activities and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations within Benenden Hospital.
The position is permanent, full time and will be based at Benenden hospital, you will be required to visit Benenden Health (based in York, North Yorkshire) roughly five or six times a year and all travel expenses are covered.

This role is based at Benenden Hospital, Kent, but we offer hybrid working at Benenden Health, balancing working from the hospital and from home. For this role, please expect to work at the hospital on average 2/3 days a week.
About the role
This role offers the opportunity to shape and drive information governance across Benenden Hospital. To promote an effective Data Protection culture within the business, champion best practice and provide senior management with insight into the effectiveness of Data Protection policies and controls and ensure alignment with the wider Benenden Group.
You’ll provide regulatory advice, support and challenge on compliance with data protection regulations in collaboration with the group DPO. Ensuring effective compliance with the organisation’s Risk Management Framework, while supporting stakeholders with completion of data protection impact assessments and provide guidance on mitigation strategies.
Skills and experience required
* Extensive experience in an information governance role within a healthcare setting
* Experience of supporting information governance focused programs, including risk management activities
* Third party audit and compliance management
* Security compliance and regulatory requirements – ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR
* Ability to work under pressure in a calm and collaborative manner.
* Ability to communicate with different audiences both technical and non-technical.
* Methodical, thorough, and well-organised
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
