Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow ST4-6 in Medical Education.
This is a full-time post, but part-time arrangements may be considered with the agreement of the Director of Medical Education.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage extensively in medical education within AWP for a duration of one year.
The post is suitable for psychiatry postgraduate trainees who have completed core training and are preparing for higher training, or for those undertaking out-of-programme experience (OOP-E) from higher training within the Severn Deanery.
There may also be a protected clinical component to help maintain clinical skills and develop specific expertise during the year.
The purpose of the role is to work with the Director of Medical Education and faculty in AWP to promote excellence in medical education.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, starting on 6th August 2025 and ending on 4th August 2026 (subject to employment clearances).
The post holder will support the DME in implementing strategic initiatives, leading projects related to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, and supporting faculty development, especially in underserved areas.
The role involves developing a variety of teaching programmes, including seminars, tutorials, lectures, workshops, problem-based learning, and e-learning materials, to enhance teaching skills.
There is a strong emphasis on developing the candidate's portfolio as an educationist and gaining higher-level experience.
The post includes active involvement in undergraduate teaching and promoting professionalism and advanced learning among trainees.
Enrolment in the Postgraduate Medical Education course at the University is encouraged, with funding and study leave provided, aiming for at least the Certificate in Medical Education during the post.
There are no on-call duties associated with this position.
