Duties
Erect, alter and dismantle various scaffolding structures.
Gain competency in using scaffolding equipment, tools and
methods.
Working outdoors in various weather conditions and sometimes
indoors depending on the project.
Adhere to strict Health and Safety regulations to ensure the
safety of yourself, your team and the public.
Additional information
Apprenticeship delivery information (college attendance/duration/level)- The scaffolding Apprenticeship programme is a part-time course, delivered through a combination of block release and on-site training. The Apprentice must be with a qualified scaffolder at all times whilst on work placement who is
mentoring them and providing them with training in line with what they are learning at college. The course duration is 22 months and is delivered at CWIC

The Apprenticeship leads to a Level 2 qualification in Scaffolding Operations. This qualification is supported by the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC), and successful candidates can begin the process to obtain a Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) card, which is the UK's industry standard for scaffold training. Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship, learners will achieve the following qualifications:
• Level 2 Diploma in Scaffolding
• Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Construction)
• Course entry is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and passing an initial assessment, which will be carried out by a Training Officer from Coleg Sir Gar.

Qualifications
Candidates who do not hold a Grade G or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent) will need to complete Essential Skills qualifications in Application of Number and Communication.
Only one of the following is required -
Previous construction experience (e.g. as a labourer)
Welsh Baccalaureate with Principal Learning in Construction and the Built Environment (at Foundation, Intermediate, or Advanced levels)
Essential Skills Wales in Application of Number and Communication
NVQ Level 1 in a construction-related occupation
A Levels and GCSEs
Work experience and a strong, positive attitude
