About the Role
A well-established and expanding law firm is seeking an experienced Specialist Lease Extension & Enfranchisement Lawyer to join its highly regarded leasehold team. The team is recognised as one of the most specialist lease extension teams in the country, handling a large volume of work across England and Wales for both freeholders and leaseholders.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong expertise in lease extensions, enfranchisement, and right to manage matters to join a growing and well-established team with a strong national reputation.
The successful candidate will manage a specialist caseload while also playing an important role in supervising and supporting junior team members as the department continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of lease extension, enfranchisement, and right to manage matters
* Advising both freeholders and leaseholders across England and Wales
* Providing clear and practical legal advice with a strong client-focused approach
* Supervising and training junior members of the team
* Delegating work efficiently where appropriate
* Maintaining high standards of client care and communication
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and professional standards
* Contributing to the continued growth and development of the specialist leasehold team
Please note: This role does not involve contentious leasehold work, as this is handled by specialist property litigators within the firm.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years experience in lease extension, enfranchisement, and right to manage matters
* Extensive experience specialising in leasehold extension and enfranchisement work
* Demonstrable experience supervising and training junior staff
* Strong technical knowledge within leasehold and enfranchisement law
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational and IT skillsAbility to manage multiple matters and work effectively under pressure
* Proven billing performance and file management experience
* A collaborative and proactive approach to team working
This role is not suitable for candidates with only limited exposure to lease extension work. The firm is seeking a genuine specialist with significant experience in this area.
The Team
The successful candidate will join one of the largest specialist lease extension teams in the country. The department handles approximately 350 cases each year and has assisted around 10,000 clients with extending their leases or purchasing their freehold.
Flexible and Remote Working
The role can be undertaken on a fully remote, hybrid, or office-based basis at one of the firms offices in Salisbury, Andover, Amesbury, or Fordingbridge.
Candidates who are able to spend some time working from the office may be prioritised due to the supervisory and training elements of the role.
