Are you ready to work with a team of talented engineers and shape the future of Aviation?
Aviation is a key focus sector at AECOM, a top-rated global transportation engineering consultancy. We are the leading aviation engineering consultancy by revenue worldwide, with significant growth potential as the sector recovers from the Covid-19 downturn. Our clients are reinvesting in their assets and future capacity needs. Aviation Infrastructure continues to be a core and growing part of our business.
Our UK Aviation business has traditionally been UK-centric, supporting airfield and civil infrastructure engineering services. We aim to diversify our services and regional reach. Aviation Infrastructure remains vital to our growth and revenue.
We seek an AGL Associate Director / Technical Director to expand our project pipeline, lead and grow the team. You will develop proposals, oversee technical aspects, and manage projects involving aviation electrical systems across the UK and internationally, focusing on sustainable, future-oriented, and low-carbon aviation solutions for airports.
Open to locations across the UK.
Current & Upcoming Projects include:
* Airfield upgrades and rehabilitation projects in civil and military markets.
* Major overseas airport bids.
* Ongoing work with UK and international clients.
* Regular airfield asset inspections domestically and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
1. Deliver: Manage AGL projects within civil and military airfields in the UK and overseas, working with the broader aviation team to grow client relationships and project pipeline.
2. Oversee: Provide technical guidance and project oversight, ensuring design quality and stakeholder engagement.
3. Provide Expertise: Support design teams and clients on multidisciplinary projects from concept to operation.
4. Ensure Quality: Review and approve design outputs, interpreting aviation standards such as ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, and military regulations.
5. Collaborate: Work with multidisciplinary engineers and the wider AECOM teams to deliver integrated solutions and build client trust.
Join us to grow professionally. We develop projects from concept to operation, providing engineering and construction services for major aviation projects.
Our benefits include flexible hybrid working, career development, technical networks, AECOM University, and volunteering days.
Qualifications:
What we’re looking for:
* Experience in delivering AGL and electrical design within airport environments, airfield operations, and airport engineering at a senior level.
* Proven project management experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing resources, schedules, and budgets.
* Deep knowledge of the aviation AGL market and contacts with suppliers and specialists.
* Practical understanding of airports and emerging aviation technologies.
* Experience working in the UK and Europe, delivering projects and engaging with clients.
We value diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you require accommodations during the application process, please contact us.
