An opportunity has arisen for the right individual within The Coppermines Lakes Cottages. Based in Coniston within the Lake District National Park, we are a long-established, non-food-based hospitality business seeking an individual to join our busy but friendly Coniston office.
With around 80 self-catering cottages in the South Lakes area, we also operate a hugely successful wedding venue at our unique Mountain Venue as well as carrying out conservation work locally. A new addition to our growing business is the Bluebird Coniston & Coach Park, an innovative new facility in Coniston village with information centre, e-bike hire, EV charging as well as parking facilities.
This is a broad and varied role in which no two days will be the same.
We are looking for an individual with either experience in the hospitality /tourism area, or someone looking to further develop their career in this industry to work on a part time basis, ideally 3 days per week.
Duties to include but not confined to;
* Based in our Coniston office you will offer guest support, being a primary contact for cottage guests and owners
* Resolving issues as they arise and co-ordinating maintenance response where required
* Answer customer queries via email, telephone or in person
* Provide retail cover of our gift shop, handling cash and card sales
* Assist with various aspects of running the business such as taking bookings and dealing with enquiries
* Build rapport and agreeable relationships with clients; both owners and customers
* Providing administrative support for our office and maintenance teams
You should:

* Work well on your own or as part of a team
* Good written skills for communicating to guests
* Be reliable, be able to work independently and be self-motivated
* Have confident telephone manner with good interpersonal skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:-
* Proficient at Microsoft Office
* Good command of written and spoken English
* Be adept at handling complaints, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits and follow up to ensure resolution
* Be able to multi-task with the ability to stay calm under pressure to allow

* Full training will be given on our in-house reservations system.
* We will also support you in becoming familiar with our cottages by in-person visits to enable you to best advise guests
* This is not a remote position. Full UK driving licence is required. Own transport to and from Coniston is essential.
* Position does not include staff accommodation.
* The role will invole covering weekends on a rotational basis
* 3 days per week, days to be arranged.
* Working hours 9am - 5pm,
* Weekend cover on rotational basis (one in five) upon completion of training.
