Responsibilities
* Ensure food preparation and control meet requirements, including COSHH compliance
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Support Function & Banqueting Service alongside Restaurant Service
* Assist in purchasing stock and ingredients
* Develop menu specials using local, seasonal influences
* Ensure all housekeeping and Food Safety Standards are followed
* Assist in managing the kitchen team
* Maintain high cleanliness standards and comply with hygiene schedules
* Contribute to developing new menu items and seasonal specials
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen or café setting (Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Assistant)
* Passion for cooking and creating quality food
* Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
* Creativity and willingness to contribute ideas for menu development
* Ability to work under pressure and stay organized in a busy environment
* Flexibility to work weekends and cover holidays as needed
* Strong communication skills and team spirit
The ideal candidate will be able to produce high-standard, fresh food. Suitable backgrounds include chefs, kitchen or catering assistants, or cooks with experience in food-led pubs, hotels, restaurants, or cafés. A minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent kitchen experience is preferred.
You will work alongside an experienced team providing training and mentorship, with opportunities for progression within the business.
