HGV Class 1 Driver – Solihull (West Midlands) People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands, on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and the potential to secure a permanent role with a well-known household brand. This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver. Shifts Monday to Friday Start times between 03:00 – 06:00 Early finishes depending on route completion Weekend overtime available (optional) Rates of Pay Monday to Friday: £17.00 per hour Saturday: £18.00 per hour Sunday: £19.00 per hour Benefits Your benefits as a HGV Class 1 Driver will include: Excellent hourly rates with premium weekend overtime Ongoing, full-time work Weekly pay Immediate starts available Temporary to permanent opportunities On-site canteen, vending machines, and break-out area Modern fleet with well-maintained vehicles Early finishes on Fridays Employee wellbeing programme Training and development provided Day-to-Day Duties As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to): Driving and operating Category CE (Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently Completing deliveries to regional distribution centres and customers Carrying out pre- and post-vehicle checks Ensuring loads are secured safely and comply with regulations Completing delivery paperwork accurately Communicating professionally with the transport team and customers Adhering to all road transport and health & safety legislation Assisting with loading and unloading where required Essential Skills To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need: A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence A minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience A valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements) A good level of spoken and written English A reliable, punctual, and professional approach Good knowledge of driving laws and regulations Strong communication skills Desirable (but Not Essential) Experience with curtain-sider, box, or trunking work Previous experience within retail or distribution environments Training Provided Full paid induction and ongoing support throughout your assignment Apply If you are ready to take the next step in your driving career as a HGV Class 1 Driver, apply today or contact our recruitment team for more information.
