Overview
HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for Environmental Consultants to deliver environmental management plans, site audits, regulatory compliance support, incident response, and client/project management within the construction sector. This role will be focused on delivering environmental management and compliance support for construction projects, including preparing management plans, auditing sites, advising on regulations, liaising with regulators, managing incidents, and overseeing client and project delivery.
Main Responsibilities
* Developing and producing environmental management plans for construction projects, including Pollution Prevention Plans and detailed Surface Water Management Plans
* Undertaking audits of construction sites to assess compliance with approved Surface Water Management Plans and environmental best practice
* Providing advice and guidance to clients on meeting UK environmental regulatory requirements, including support with drafting and submitting permit applications and exemptions
* Engaging in liaison activities with environmental regulators such as the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance
* Responding to and managing environmental incidents on-site, such as fuel and oil spillages, silt discharges, and effluent releases, ensuring appropriate remedial measures are implemented
* Delivering advice and practical on-site training to clients and contractors on a range of environmental issues including ecology, land contamination, and waste management
* Preparing competitive quotations and tenders to support new business opportunities and the development of future projects
* Leading the management of clients and projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
Person Specification
* This role is suited to someone with between 2 and 10 years minimum experience in the environmental sector.
* Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy
* Able to work closely and confidently with clients and regulators
* A track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget
* Full UK driving licence
