About the Role
TC Group, the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK, is looking for an Accountant to join the team in their Gateshead office. The ideal candidate will have previous accountancy practice experience and will manage a portfolio of clients, preparing year‑end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole‑traders and LLPs.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing year‑end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole‑traders and LLPs
* Supporting junior staff within the team
* Working closely with clients, other members of the accounts team and other departments, including direct contact with the partners, managers and clients to obtain required information to prepare accounts
* Delivering excellent client service
* Preparing management accounts
* Involvement with workflow implementation and management
* Assisting with driving technological solutions in accounting throughout the office
* Preparing VAT returns
* Bookkeeping for clients
* Assisting with ad‑hoc client support
Qualifications and Experience
* Ideally at least 5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
* ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
* Good working knowledge of Xero and cloud accounting
* Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Pro‑active and positive attitude
