This is for a Permanent, Fixed Term and Casual appointment at 76 hours per fortnight. There is a possibility of an extension(s) an/ or permanency with casual or fixed term appointments.

This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

1. The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications, and will assess on a regular basis.
2. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.

To be successful, you will have...

6. Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
7. Demonstrated ability to apply recovery approaches when working with individuals, families and communities affected by mental health conditions.
8. Exhibits advanced community mental health nursing skills in working with individuals with complex mental health conditions, including mental state assessment, risk assessments, crisis intervention, and care coordination.
9. Extensive and recent experience in community-based mental health nursing practice.
10. Demonstrated ability to work alone and within a multidisciplinary team.
11. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal consumers and their families, and other stakeholders accessing mental health services.
12. Demonstrated knowledge of medications used, and experience in the dispensing and administering of medications used in the treatment of mental health disorders.
13. Current knowledge of legislative obligations in relation to the WA Mental Health Act 2014.
14. Working knowledge of computer use and information systems relevant to the position.
15. Current C Class drivers Licence and an ability and willingness to travel including overnight stays away from home.

Position Profile:

Provides advanced community mental health services to clients of the KMHDS which is based on best practice. Provides a service, which is culturally secure and takes into account the emotional, social and spiritual well-being of clients. Conducts Mental Health and/or drug and alcohol (AOD) Triage, acute initial assessments, Risk Assessments crisis intervention, care management planning and implementation of care plan and referral services to clients and their carer/s.
