Overview

As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary.


Responsibilities

* Deliver outstanding care to psychosocial patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback — ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual.
* Manage a caseload of patients with varying needs, including substance misuse, mental health, trauma, etc.
* Provide a programme of psychosocial interventions and comprehensive assessments.
* Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
* Prepare patients for release and transfer.
* Deliver care on a 1-1 basis as well as in group sessions.
* Assist the healthcare team across other pathways as needed, including second signing.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Have experience within substance misuse, ideally in a prison / secure environment, and ideally within a Recovery Worker / Practitioner role.
* Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways.
* Have a flexible approach, and excellent communication skills.
* Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach.

Role details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Risley, a Category C male prison located near Warrington. HMP Risley offers a fast-paced, unique rewarding environment to learn and develop. Join the Recovery Team and empower those who wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.

Hours: This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Salary: This position is full-time; you’ll receive an annual salary of £28,247 - £32,346 depending on experience.
